Lover’s wake-up call leads to throat slit attack
A BOOZED-UP woman is facing attempted murder charges over claims she slit her boyfriend’s throat just moments after waking him up and asking if he loved her.
According to the 39-year-old victim, he told his lover Dawn Peel that he did love her, to which she replied: “This is the last day you’ll see my eyes.”
He says she then used a large knife to slice his neck “as if she was slaughtering a goat or a cow”.
But he was able to fend her off and make his escape.
Once the man was out of the apartment, he called the cops and was taken to hospital.
He had surgery on the 5.5-inch gash, which required 23 stitches.
When police arrived at the apartment in St Paul, Minnesota, they found 50-year-old Peel completely nude, with wet hair and covered in blood.
Officers say she had alcohol on her breath.
Police say Peel has denied attacking her boyfriend and claimed she had been assaulted by him.
