“Barbara just wasn’t used to it – waiters were constantly topping up her glass and she ended up very drunk.
“She never normally has more than a couple of glasses of wine so it’s completely out of character.” Barabara is believed to have met a fellow tourist – who has not been identified – and left the hotel with him.
It is believed the pair were indulging in a sex act on a nearby beach when they were arrested.
Melanie, 34, was called to the police station and Barbara was released into her custody on condition that she left the country the next day.

The friend added: “She’s mortified, she can’t believe it was her – it’s so out of character.”
