Bent ‘Fingers’ to go straight
A NOTORIOUS crook nicknamed “Fingers” has vowed to go straight – after being nicked 398 times.
Andrew Davies, 34, earned his name because of his love of pinching.
He was yesterday behind bars for stealing jars of coffee after promising a judge it would his last time before the courts.
At Newport Crown Court Judge William Gaskell told Davies: “The only way to overcome this is by your own decision.
“Just try to get a grip on your life and grow up.”
Davies was 15 when he started his two-decade shoplifting spree in shops around his home town of Newport, South Wales.
Stuart McLeese, defending, said: “This will be the last time he will be in trouble, he intends to change his ways.”
