Footy club boss slams ‘vendetta’
A FOOTBALL club owner slammed police and prosecutors who tried him for organising football violence after his case was dropped
Andy Swallow ( above), 53, of Grays Athletic, was said to have plotted “mass violence” between Millwall and West Ham fans at the Eastbrook pub in Dagenham, east London, where minor scuffles broke out.
Swallow had been involved with the notorious Inter City Firm of West Ham fans many years ago but insisted he was victim of a police vendetta.
He said: “It was rotten prosecution. There was never any evidence against me. My IFC days were long ago.”
Prosecutors claimed record producer Swallow, of Blackwall, east London, and others tried to arrange a brawl for the third round FA Cup tie on January 7 last year.
