The research, by online sex toy retailer Lovehoney, polled 500 holidaymakers about their secret shagging habits.

A whopping 53 per cent said they’d done it on ‘ the beach’, while ‘swimming pools’ were a close second most popular spot, with ‘the sea’ third.

Around one in ten people also admitted they have joined the Mile High Club and bonked at 30,000 feet.

And here’s another reason to get your next holiday booked – the survey also showed that 62 per cent of couples have MORE sex when they are on holiday.

The main reason couples have more passion is because they feel more relaxed, chosen by 38 per cent of respondents.

Holiday-makers are also hornier because they have more time, according to 26 per cent of those polled.

More than a third of couples also owned up to taking a sex toy on holiday.

And 20 per cent have been caught with a sex toy when they were away – six per cent of those said it happened when they were going through customs.
