GOLF AND BBC SEXIST? NO… THIS IS SEXIST!
COMPARED to these mega-sexist adverts, the sport of golf and the BBC are practically breeding grounds for hairy-legged feminists!
Because this selection of bigoted posters from the ’50s and ’60s is sure to get Germaine Greer’s bushy armpit brigade burning their bras!
If recent revelations surrounding the BBC and golf are anything to go by, sexism is making a comeback.
First, John Inverdale, one of the Beeb’s chief sports anchors, sparked outrage with his remarks during the Wimbledon tennis tournament.
The corporation has received a whopping 1,250 complaints after the broadcaster, 55, declared that ladies’ champ Marion Bartoli was “never going to be a looker”. And there was further c o ntroversy last week after it was revealed that Scotland’s Muirfield, the venue for this year’s Open Championship, is a men-only golf club.
The expose triggered fresh rumours that GOLF is an acronym for ‘Gentlemen Only, Ladies Forbidden’.
But the sport’s bigwigs and those at the BBC look like liberals next to these controversial ads!
Feminist Frances Nash said: “These offensive ads prove that John Inverdale and golf ’s relics belong firmly in the ’ 50s.”
