BERNABALE Madrid agree world-record fee for Welsh wing star Froch v Groves: IT’S ON!

GARTEH BALE has sensationally agreed a six-year deal – worth in excess of £8.5million a year – to join Real Madrid.

Spanish paper Marca claim a world-record deal to take the Tottenham winger to the Bernabeu is done.

That means the Spaniards will have to shell out more than the £80million they paid Man United for Cristiano Ronaldo in 2009.

The Welsh wizard has already informed Spurs chairman Daniel Levy that he wants to quit the club.

Bale’s agent, Jonathan Barnett, reportedly met Madrid officials last month where they agreed terms on a deal worth around £200,000 a week.

And Barnett has been quoted as saying: “Have no doubts, Gareth has wanted to play for Madrid since he was a kid.”
