NANI has dropped a ma­jor hint he wants to STAY at Man United – de­spite in­ter­est from Monaco.

The Por­tuguese winger, 26, has just one year left on his cur­rent deal at Old Traf­ford and un­der Sir Alex Fer­gu­son looked set for an exit.

United of­fered him a new deal at the end of last sum­mer but a con­tract was never agreed and he came close to a switch to Zenit St Peters­burg be­fore the trans­fer win­dow closed.

Monaco sport­ing di­rec­tor Vadim Vasi­lyev has re­vealed the big-spend­ing French out­fit have been of­fered the chance to sign Nani for £8.5mil­lion and are set to of­fer him a three-year deal.

Nani suf­fered from a nose prob­lem at the end of last sea­son and did not travel on United’s pre-sea­son tour of the Far East.

But he re­turned to ac­tion with a daz­zling dis­play, scor­ing both goals in a 2-0 win at Crewe on Mon­day.

Im­pact

The for­mer Sport­ing Lis­bon man has yet to make a firm de­ci­sion on his fu­ture. But he has sug­gested that he wants to hang about and make an im­pact un­der new boss David Moyes (left).

He said: “Of course there was a big dif­fer­ence when Sir Alex left, but the team is the same and we hope that the new man­ager comes with a lot of new ideas.”

Moyes will look to sort out Nani’s fu­ture and is also set for talks with want­away Wayne Rooney this week.

Jesse Lin­gard has made a ma­jor re­cent im­pact – bag­ging four goals on the pre-sea­son trip.

And the 20-year-old is des­per­ate for the chance to con­tinue his run in Tues­day’s friendly against Swedish out­fit AIK de­spite Rooney, Nani, An­to­nio Va­len­cia and Javier Her­nan­dez all re­turn­ing.

He said: “Hope­fully I’ll get the chance to play, even get among the goals, to keep me in the man­ager’s thoughts.”
