Identical twins are charged with attack

A PAIR of identical twins have appeared in court charged over the rape of a woman.

Mohammed and Aftab Asghar were arrested after DNA evidence taken from the scene linked the alleged crime with one – or both – of them.

Prosecutors have charged both of the lookalike siblings as they are unable to tell which one of them is the supposed attacker.

Police and the Crown Prosecution Service are continuing their investigation to try to determine whether they should continue to pursue the case against both men.

The 22-year-olds were expected to enter pleas when they appeared alongside each other in the dock at Reading Crown Court, Berks.
