42-fracture crash victim drives again

-

A HORRIFIC car crash which left a man with 42 fracture in his FACE hasn’t stopped him getting back behind the wheel.

Sam Fretwell needed reconstructed eye sockets, metal plates fitted in his face and was left blind in one eye.

Sam (right), 22, from Eakring, Notts, had his face smashed in half in the crash on the A614 on May 30 last year.

He underwent 13-hour surgery to piece his face back together and is still recovering and going to physiotherapy, but he’s back behind the wheel.

He said: “I was very nervous driving again but I knew I had to do it. I just wanted to get my life back to normal as soon as possible.

“I actually had to drive down the same road where I had my accident.”

Sam has also set up his own business dealing in vintage cars.
