Rovers ready to mix with elite
FEATHERSTONE are ready to take the place of London Broncos if they pull out of Super League next season.
The bottom-of-thetable Londoners have not won a league game since April, lost 70-0 to Wigan in the Challenge Cup semi-final and have seen crowds drop to an average of 2,213.
With two clubs to be relegated at the end of next season to make way for a 12-team Super League, it is thought the Broncos’ long-term backer David Hughes may withdraw his financial support.
Featherstone’s majority shareholder Feisal Nahaboo said: “We’ve made it clear we have funds available to build Rovers into a rugby league powerhouse and we should be encouraged, not discouraged.”
