Stu­art Hall has trou­ble with his ring in prison

SHAMED broad­caster Stu­art Hall threw his wed­ding ring into a prison POND after a mo­bile phone row with his wife.

And the 83-year-old for­mer It’s a Knock­out pre­sen­ter later asked if he could pay to have the wa­ter dredged to re­trieve it.

But his re­quest was turned down, says a for­mer in­mate of I wing at Wy­mott prison, near Preston – where Hall is serv­ing a five-year sen­tence for sex at­tacks on young girls.

The in­mate who wit­nessed the pond drama said: “He had an ar­gu­ment with his wife on the phone. He took the ring off and threw it in.

“Ev­ery­one else thought it was hi­lar­i­ous but he was fu­ri­ous. He was slag­ging her off.”

Hall’s 75-year-old wife Hazel still lives in the cou­ple’s £2m man­sion in Wilm­slow, Cheshire.

The un­named lag de­scribed I wing as “cushty” and re­peated claims that Hall had re­ceived pref­er­en­tial treat­ment at the jail, which houses 1,200 in­mates on four wings.

He added: “He gets pref­er­en­tial treat­ment. That’s why he was on that wing so quick. There’s usu­ally a wait­ing list for I wing. He was fast-tracked straight in.”
