Stuart Hall has trouble with his ring in prison
SHAMED broadcaster Stuart Hall threw his wedding ring into a prison POND after a mobile phone row with his wife.
And the 83-year-old former It’s a Knockout presenter later asked if he could pay to have the water dredged to retrieve it.
But his request was turned down, says a former inmate of I wing at Wymott prison, near Preston – where Hall is serving a five-year sentence for sex attacks on young girls.
The inmate who witnessed the pond drama said: “He had an argument with his wife on the phone. He took the ring off and threw it in.
“Everyone else thought it was hilarious but he was furious. He was slagging her off.”
Hall’s 75-year-old wife Hazel still lives in the couple’s £2m mansion in Wilmslow, Cheshire.
The unnamed lag described I wing as “cushty” and repeated claims that Hall had received preferential treatment at the jail, which houses 1,200 inmates on four wings.
He added: “He gets preferential treatment. That’s why he was on that wing so quick. There’s usually a waiting list for I wing. He was fast-tracked straight in.”
