Curry smell rant racists walk free
TWO “neighbours from hell” who complained the smell of curry from next door made their CAT ill have been spared jail.
Former nurse Wendy Perrin, 63, and partner Paul Moore, 64, would swear at Farheen Abdullah and her husband Sakib Ahmed.
They subjected their neighbours in Dagenham, Essex, to more than 18 months of harassment, yelling “shut up” when they heard Bengali being spoken, and wrote a letter saying “the smell is affecting our asthma, even our cat becomes ill”.
Moore would also yell insults like “you f**king Pakis” over the fence.
Both Moore and Perrin, who’d denied all charges, were convicted of racially aggravated harassment at Snaresbrook Crown Court.
They were respectively handed six months and four months in prison, suspended two years.
