CARLOS GETS FAB CHANCE

ASTON VILLA boss Paul Lambert has backed Carlos Sanchez to fill Fabian Delph’s boots.

The Colombian midfielder has started just one league game but looks set for his chance with Delph sidelined with a shoulder problem.

“Carlos will come into the reckoning,” said Lambert. “He has done really well in training, but the form of Fabian has been really high.

“Now is the time to look at Carlos and say, ‘Let’s see if you’re ready’.

“He’s played in massive games before. I don’t have any problem with putting him in.”
