Fans’ third bite at Sharknado

THE latest instalment of the film franchise has been announced.

The as-yet-untitled sequel will be set in the state of Florida, on the east coast of the United States.

The Syfy network, who produced and

revealed the news at a press event.

A spokesman said: “The film will begin with an attack on Washington D.C., then chomp its way down to Orlando. No seaboard city below our nation’s capital is safe.”

The original disaster flick was a surprise hit for the cable channel after millions of fans embraced its outlandish plot and schlocky special effects. The film, which starred

actress Tara Reid, follows a group of survivors as they resist a mass shark attack during a freak storm.

The sequel doubled the audience of the first

and a third film will be out early next year.
