IT’S THE RIGHT THING TO REOPEN SMILER

-

I READ this week that one of the victims of the Alton Towers’ rollercoaster crash has slammed the park’s decision to reopen the ride to the public.

Sorry, it was an awful thing to happen, but at the end of the day the theme park is a business and if they are not making money they have to do something about it.

Accidents happen – and what happened was terrible – but it is also very rare and nothing like that has ever happened before on that ride or at Alton Towers.

When someone dies in a car accident, they don’t close down the road it happened on.

So why should this be any different. And accidents like this one are so rare, it would be stupid to close the ride altogether.

I know that four people were really badly injured but no-one died on the ride – if they did then maybe I could understand Alton Towers deciding to close down the ride out of respect or in memory of them.

But at the end of the day compensation has been paid and Alton Towers has suffered hugely since the June crash with people scared to go.

I know no amount of money will give the two girls their legs back but I don’t think they can call for the ride to stay closed for good. DAVID and Victoria Beckham are a great couple and I think all these rumours that their marriage is on the rocks are just bollocks. I don’t believe any of it, to be honest.

They have built a hugely successful brand with their family name, and a lot of their relationship is about business – so there are bound to be a few public outbursts or disagreements.

But I’m sure it will probably all blow over.

If they were going to split up then let’s be honest, they would have done it before now – probably back when Rebecca Loos crawled out of the woodwork.
