OLDER women are TWICE as likely to shag on the first date – according to a steamy new sex poll.

Figures show that only 22 per cent of girls aged 18 to 24 admitted doing the dirty after just one romantic encounter.

But the stats reveal that a rod-on inspiring 39 per cent of ladies aged 25 to 54 have got steamy within hours of meeting a bloke.

The survey was carried out by the website Dating Advice.com which asked 1,000 Brits about their first date rules.

Sex expert Dr Ramani Durvasula said: “If a woman agrees to have sex on the first date it’s because she wants to.

“Independent women will follow their instincts and not worry about the social fall-out, and that comes with confidence.

“So it makes sense that the older a woman is, the more likely she is to disregard social convention and give it up early if she fancies someone.”

The study showed that men still lead the pack when it comes to dipping their wick on the first date, with 46 per cent admitting trying it on and getting their way.

But experts have found that high earners are less willing to wait for some action in the bedroom.

Nearly half of men and women who earn between £49,000 and £65,000 are more likely to jump into bed on a first date, while only a quarter of people who earn less than £16,000 said they would.

The survey also found that 45 per cent of adults who copped a legover during a first date are divorced, while 31 percent are married and 36 per cent are single.

Dr Durvasula added: “Those in high powered jobs are used to taking what they want in the office, and that follows for them in their romantic lives.

“Commonly it is thought that giving it up on the first date weakens a woman’s position, that she’s easy and has low self-esteem.

“But while this may be true in some cases, on the whole it’s more likely that the opposite is true.

“The figures do seem to suggest that if you want to get laid on the first date, take out a richer, older woman.”
