LISTEN up guys – the key to bagging yourself a SEXY piece of arm candy is to surround yourself by GORGEOUS women.

New research has found that fellas who are seen out with stunning girlfriends instantly become more attractive to other women.

And the study also revealed that girls take note of who other beautiful women choose to date.

The research was carried out by Dr Anthony Little at the University of Stirling in Scotland – and could explain the age old mystery of how some bog standard men bag themselves sizzling girlfriends.

Psychology lecturer Dr Little said: “Research reveals if a man surrounds himself with attractive female friends or has an attractive partner, they automatically become more attractive to the opposite sex.

“Being paired with an attractive partner or friend increases a man’s chances of finding a mate.”

The online study quizzed just under 200 women, aged between 17 and 52, and asked them to rate pictures of 20 men on a scale of one to seven for attractiveness as long-term partners.

At the same time they were shown a picture of a woman said to be his partner – who they were told was either popular or unpopular.

Dr Little said: “We found women rated target men paired with a popular female model as more attractive than men paired with a less popular female model.”

Model Holly Short, 22, said it makes her compete more for a man’s attention if he is surrounded by a group of gorgeous female friends – or even a stunning girlfriend.

The 34DD beauty, from Nottingham, said: “I totally agree with this. If I am out and a guy catches my eye, then I usually let nothing stand in my way of getting him.

“And if he is surrounded by beautiful women, then it only makes me up my game even more.

“I can’t stand to lose – and if he can bag himself that many stunners in the first place, then I always think, ‘Well, he must be worth pursuing’.”
