Man seized over shock HIV claims

A MAN has been ar­rested on sus­pi­cion of “de­lib­er­ately sab­o­tag­ing safe sex prac­tices” with the in­ten­tion of putting male sex­ual part­ners at risk of HIV and other sex­u­ally trans­mit­ted dis­eases.

The man is de­scribed as aged in his 20s with a Scot­tish ac­cent, and his ac­tions are al­leged to have taken place in Brighton be­tween Oc­to­ber last year and Fe­bru­ary 2016.

Sus­sex Po­lice in­ves­ti­gat­ing the shock­ing re­ports ar­rested the sus­pect on sus­pi­cion of caus­ing griev­ous bod­ily harm with in­tent. He is cur­rently on po­lice bail.

Po­lice and the Di­rec­tor of Pub­lic Health for Brighton and Hove are en­cour­ag­ing men who think they may have had sex­ual con­tact with the sus­pect to con­tact sex­ual health sup­port ser­vices.
