Teacher is cleared of lunch ‘rapes’

A GEOGRAPHY teacher has been cleared of raping a pupil in a classroom at an all-girls school.

Kato Harris ( above), 37, a department head at the school, had been accused of attacking the 14-year-old three times in autumn 2013 during lunch breaks.

The teenager was said to have been so traumatised by the ordeal that she was treated by a New York psychiatrist every week for a year and moved schools.

But jurors found Mr Harris, from Richmond, London, not guilty of all the charges at his trial at Isleworth Crown Court.

A spokesman for the Crown Prosecution Service said: “The CPS thoroughly reviewed this case and decided there was sufficient evidence to bring the case to court, and that it was in the public interest to do so.

“It is not for the CPS to determine the guilt or innocence of a suspect.

“The evidence in this case was put before a jury and we respect their decision.” All but one of the ravens at the Tower of London died from stress during the Second World War Blitz
