Man dies after struck by tram

A MAN has died after being hit by a tram in Nottingham.

Nottinghamshire Police said the fatal incident took place at around 11pm on Monday, near the David Lane tram stop in Basford.

A spokesman for the Force said: “Officers were called at around 11.10pm to assist ambulance crews after it was reported that a man had been involved in a collision with a moving tram.

“Emergency services attended the scene between the David Lane tram stop and the Basford crossing.

“The man, in his fifties, was found to have died.

“The full circumstances are yet to be established, but the death is not believed to be suspicious at this time.”
