Mayor does it doggy style!

A DOG has been elected as a town MAYOR.

Duke The Great Pyrenees is now the highest political figure in Cormorant, Minnesota.

“He’s the only dog that’s been elected mayor in America,” said local resident Becky Ulven.

David Rick, Duke’s owner, said: “Three years ago, it happened by accident, it was a write in vote. You pay a dollar and you can vote.”

Despite being elected as a joke, the political pooch has one of the highest approval ratings in the country.

And Duke has been re-elected for a third term.

Owner David added: “Everybody voted for Duke, except for one vote for his girlfriend Lassie.”
