Blasts rock city mosque

-

A CITY centre mosque and an international congress centre have been attacked in two separate explosions.

Police in Dresden, Germany, said the blasts took place late on Monday, and miraculously no-one was injured.

Police president Horst Kretschmar said: “Even though we do not have a letter of confession, we must assume there’s a xenophobic background.”

Officers found pieces of a homemade explosive device in front of the congress centre.

They also increased the security in front of mosques all over Dresden, in Eastern Germany.

Dresden is set to hold Germany’s national unification celebrations next week.

It is the state capital of Saxony which has seen an increase in racist attacks recently.
