Benefits Street star Lee found dead at home

-

BENEFITS Street’s Lee Nutley has been found dead on the estate in the North East where the hit show was filmed.

The body of the reality show star was discovered by an ambulance crew at a home in Stockton.

The discovery was made at an address on Kingston Road – the same street in the Tilery estate where the second series of the controversial C4 programme was shot.

Lee ( above), who was in his 40s, was one of six residents who were followed by a camera crew during the show, which first hit screens in May 2015.

His death comes just 18 months after the programme aired, and prompted tributes on social media.

One Twitter user wrote: “Sad to hear that Lee Nutley who starred in Benefits Street #Stockton has died – bless him. #RipLeeNutley.”

Lee suffered a number of health issues in recent years, including epilepsy and heroin addiction. GATWICK, the name of the UK’s second-largest airport, means ‘the farm where goats are kept’

Yesterday, Cardiff Crown Court heard the young woman went back to the hotel with Evans’s friend and fellow footballer Clayton McDonald after meeting him at Rhyl’s Zu Bar.

The court was told that Evans took a key to the room before joining in sex with the girl, who claims she was too intoxicated to remember anything.

Evans told the court there was “nothing sinister” in what he did.

Prosecutor Simon Medland QC asked him: “You didn’t speak to her at all during this episode, did you?”

To which Evans, who now plays for Chesterfield, replied: “It wasn’t really a time for conversation. It was a moment we all got caught up in.”

Evans also admitted he did not explicitly ask his alleged victim whether she consented to having unprotected sex with him, and added that she implied consent when she asked him to perform oral sex on her.

The court was shown CCTV footage of Evans leaving the hotel.

He denied claims from the prosecution that he had tried to conceal his face.

Evans also told the court that he is embarrassed by the statement he gave to police in which he claimed women “throw themselves at him”, describing it as cringe-worthy.

Mr Medland asked him: “You felt at the time that football was a magnet for girls, didn’t you?”

Evans replied: “I don’t think footballers are entitled to anything. I don’t think what you’re saying is correct.” DENIAL: Ched Evans with his girlfriend Natasha Massey

Prosecutors say she was too drunk to consent to sex.

Earlier this week Evans told the court that he stopped having sex with the girl as soon as McDonald left the room, before making his exit through a fire escape. He said that he realised he was cheating on his girlfriend, Natasha Massey.

McDonald was acquitted of a rape charge at an earlier trial.

Evans’s half-brother, Ryan Roberts, 23, a secondary school maths teacher, also addressed the court and said he, the striker and their friend Jack Higgins, got a taxi to the Premier Inn in the early hours of May 30, 2011.

While Evans went inside, Roberts and Higgins looked through the windows of the hotel, filming some of what they saw on a phone.

Roberts added that he did not see him having sex with the complainant.

The trial continues.
