Wales in top 10 for travellers

NORTH Wales has been named as one of the world’s top 10 regions for travellers.

It was praised by travel guide Lonely Planet for being “a playground for hikers, mountain bikers and rock climbers” as well as “a haunt of in-theknow foodies”.

A spokesman from Lonely Planet said: “We included North Wales in this year’s list of top 10 regions because it deserves to be recognised on the global stage.

“It’s a stunning area with a vast array of activities on offer.

“North Wales is a gem and should be on every traveller’s radar.”

The region was ranked number four on the top 10, which also included South Australia, Aysen in Chile and the Tuamotus in French Polynesia.
