NOVEMBER 2016 GLAMOUR CALENDAR FOR EVERY READER! KERRY: I TOLD MY ‘SELFISH’ MUM TO KILL HERSELF

-

URGED: Kerry gave her mum all medicines TROUBLED telly star Kerry Katona has revealed how she once helped her mother take a potentially fatal overdose of drugs, telling her, ‘Go on, take them, you’re selfish’.

The 36-year-old broke down in tears when she recalled how she assisted her drug-addict mother, Sue, in the suicide attempt when she was just 15.

Kerry told Channel 5’s In Therapy how she encouraged her mum to take all the pills and tablets in the house when she was at her lowest ebb.

The Atomic Kitten singer told the show: “When I was 15, my mum had lost her boyfriend and wanted to die.”

“It got to the point where I went into her bathroom and I got all her medicines out and said, ‘Go on, take them, you’re selfish’.

“I made her take all the pills, then I rang for an ambulance and told her ADDICT: Kerry’s mum Sue I’d pick her up after school, after I’d done my GCSEs.”

Kerry, whose own battle with depression and addiction is well documented, also apologised to her five children for everything she has put them through.

The reality TV star spoke about how she had her children’s names tattooed on her arms to stop her ever slitting her wrists.

She said: “If it’s hereditary I’d have to be one selfish person to cut through my kids’ names, so that’s why they’re there.”

Kerry has five children by three fathers, with the oldest two, Molly, 15, and Lily-Sue, 13, from her marriage to former Westlife star Brian McFadden.

She shares eight-year-old Heidi and seven-year-old Max with her ex-husband Mark Croft, and has a two-year-old, Dylan-Jorge, with her third husband George Kay.

In a previous interview she spoke about how she was almost driven to suicide during her second marriage.

She admitted self-harming in the past, but said she would never do anything to put her children’s futures at risk, adding: “I’ve never slashed my wrist, because of my kids.

“If I was ever to do that it would mean cutting through my kids’ names. And what a selfish mother I would be to do that.”

She has also opened up about how she used to take drugs with her mother to help them ‘bond’.

In Therapy: Kerry Katona will air on Cahnnel 5, November 3 at 10pm.
