Schoolboy dies doing detention
THE death of a boy, 14, who fell ill at school while in detention is being investigated.
Nasar Ahmed, a year nine pupil at Bow School in east London, was taken to the Royal London Hospital after becoming unwell last Thursday, Scotland Yard said.
He died at the hospital on Monday, and his death is now being treated as unexplained by police.
The BBC last night reported that the boy was severely asthmatic.
It is understood that he was in an exclusion group with three other pupils, doing school work under a teacher’s supervision, when he began to have problems breathing and a 999 call was made.
A Metropolitan Police spokeswoman said: “The death is being treated as unexplained.”
