Pen­tonville lag charged with escape

A MAN has been charged with es­cap­ing from prison fol­low­ing the break­out of two in­mates from HMP Pen­tonville.

James An­thony Whit­lock ( top), 31, was ar­rested in Homer­ton, east Lon­don, on Sunday and is due to ap­pear be­fore High­bury Cor­ner Mag­is­trates.

Two men, aged 48 and 19, who were also nicked on sus­pi­cion of as­sist­ing an of­fender have been bailed till De­cem­ber.

Kelly Baker, 21, of Il­ford, east Lon­don, has been sim­i­larly charged and ap­peared be­fore High­bury Cor­ner JPs on Fri­day, where she was bailed to be at Black­fri­ars Crown Court on De­cem­ber 9.

Matthew Baker, 28, who also es­caped was ar­rested at an ad­dress in Il­ford on Novem­ber 9.

He was taken to a north Lon­don po­lice sta­tion, but was later to hospi­tal for treat­ment to a leg in­jury.

Scot­land Yard launched a man­hunt for two lags af­ter their escape was dis­cov­ered shortly be­fore midday on Novem­ber 7. MISS­ING killer Lord Lu­can was once asked to au­di­tion for the role of James Bond.
