Woman dies in char­ity box

A WOMAN has died af­ter get­ting her arm caught in a cloth­ing do­na­tion drop-off box.

Ju­dith Per­mar, 56, suf­fered a com­bi­na­tion of trauma in­juries as well as hy­pother­mia in the ac­ci­dent, a coroner said.

Ms Per­mar, from Mount Carmel, Penn­syl­va­nia, used a stool to reach into the bin and her left arm be­came stuck when the stool col­lapsed. She broke her left arm and wrist and could not get free and her feet could not touch the ground.

In­ves­ti­ga­tors be­lieve Ms Per­mar – who was de­scribed as short – went to the char­ity drop-off at about 2am on Sun­day.

She was found dead more than six hours later.

The drop box is lo­cated along a re­mote stretch of high­way in Natalie, a tiny vil­lage.

Ver­dict: Ac­ci­dent.
