Man charged with 1-year-old boy’s murder

A MAN has appeared in court charged with the murder of a one-year-old boy and the attempted murder of a girl believed to be the child’s twin.

Both toddlers were discovered with critical injuries at a flat in Wilberforce Road, near Finsbury Park, north London, on Saturday night.

Dressed in a grey tracksuit, Bidhya Sagar Das (above), 33, of Wilberforce Road, appeared at Thames Magistrates’ Court and spoke only to confirm his identity.

He is due to next appear at the Old Bailey on Thursday.

The children – named in court documents – were taken to hospital after an incident at the same address.

The boy, Gabriel Bibekdas Sonu, died in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The girl, Tusidas Maria Das, has been operated on and is in a critical condition.

A post-mortem examination in relation to the boy was due to take place at a central London hospital. THE winning goal in the first-ever World Cup final was scored by a one-armed man playing for Uruguay
