Shirley put cocaine in her coffee

HOLLYWOOD icon Shirley MacLaine once swapped sugar for COCAINE in her cup of coffee.

The 82-year-old Terms of Endearment star ( above) revealed she mistook the Class A drug for sugar at a party and stirred a heaped teaspoon into her drink.

Shirley proudly admitted that she’d never indulged in drugs – except for that one mishap.

She said: “I’ve never done drugs.

“I think of those times when my buddies would go in the bathroom and I’m left alone in the living room thinking ‘What are they doing? Why am I alone?’

“They were doing drugs.

“But at a party once, the hostess served cocaine in a silver bowl. I didn’t even know what it was.

“I thought it was a sugar substitute and put a spoonful of it in my coffee.

“It really put me off coffee for a while.”
