THE younger you feel, the better your sex life will be as you get older, a new study shows.
According to the research, people who feel young at heart are more likely to be satisfied between the sheets.
Amy Estill carried out the study, which was recently published in the respected Journal of Sex Research, and found that those who felt closer to their age had less enjoyable shagging sessions.
She looked at the responses older adults gave to questions regarding sex in her study. Despite there being no apparent difference in how often the volunteers were bonking, she found that the older people felt, the less likely they enjoyed a bonk.
Estill said: “I think it highlights that clinicians should consider all of the factors that might contribute to someone’s sexuality.
“Sexuality is such an important factor for quality of life, even when we age, and I think that there are a lot of stereotypes around aging and sexuality right now.
“Sexuality is an important part of human life across the life span and it’s something that’s often not considered for older adults because there is a stigma around it.
“So we’re hoping that this research can sort of start to break the stigma a little bit and normalise conversations around sexuality and health for older adults.”
Results from Estill’s research back up an earlier study she carried out a decade ago, and show that although physical health can predict a person’s sexual ability later in life, attitudes can also have an impact.
Those people who felt energetic and frisky in the bedroom were much more satisfied than those who felt their age.

“I always find that older blokes are more adventurous in the bedroom and I prefer shagging a silver fox than a young pup.
“Men my age cum far too quickly and hardly ever concentrate on making me satisfied, whereas older blokes are much more tuned in to my body.
“It’s true, if men feel younger, they act younger in the bedroom – trust me I’ve got experience with it! If I feel this age when I’m elderly, there’ll be no stopping me!”
