Now Mourinho accused of tax fraud in Spain
JOSE Mourinho is the latest footballing figure to be accused of tax fraud worth 3.3million euros (£2.9m) by a Spanish state prosecutor.
The Manchester United manager and former Real Madrid coach (above) is alleged to have committed two counts of tax fraud in 2011 and 2012.
Information provided by Spain’s Tax Office indicates that Mourinho used shell companies in the Virgin Islands and Ireland to “hide profits made from image rights”.
A judge will now decide whether to take the matter to court.
Mourinho, 54, coached Real Madrid from 2010-13.
Only last week, Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo was accused of defrauding Spain’s tax office of 14.7m euros (£12.9m).
And last year, Barcelona forward Lionel Messi was found guilty on three counts of defrauding tax authorities of 4.1m euros (£3.6m). DOLPHINS can’t sneeze
