‘Murder pair put victim in wheelie bin’
A MURDER victim was trussed up and hidden in a wheelie bin outside a flat, a jury heard yesterday.
James Woodhouse was wrapped up in bedding held in place with black duct tape and his upper body was put in the bin, a court was told.
Prosecutor Simon Laws said defendant Brett Edwards “had stolen that wheelie bin the day before the body was discovered”.
Mr Laws told Exeter Crown Court: “He brought it to his flat in order to use it in the disposal of the body of James Woodhouse.”
He said it was “a desperate plan” by Edwards to get rid of the body of the former soldier.
Edwards, 37, and Tommy Killen, 32, both deny the murder of Mr Woodhouse on November 11 last year at the flat in Exeter, Devon.
Mr Laws said: “The defendants blame each other for that attack,” adding that both “were involved in the drugs world”.
