Guru Mary: Lez have a gay Barbie

SHOPPING guru Mary Portas wants Barbie to turn LESBIAN to reflect the world in the 21st century.

Barbie’s creators, Mattel, unveiled new dolls last year which included Barbie with seven skin tones and a curvy version of the iconic toy.

However, Mary ( above), 57, challenged the creators of the plastic figurine further and quizzed them on making a “lezza doll” in the future.

She told the vicepresident of Mattel, Kim Culmone, that they should be “less hung up on body shape” and instead let the doll reflect how people live.

Mary, who herself identifies as a gay woman, said, “We should be doing more lezza dolls” and referred to a one-off model made for lesbian U.S. footballer Abby Wambach.

Mary asked, “Will you put it to the board?” to which Kim replied, “I’ll see what I can do”.

Mary’s show, Barbie: The Most Famous Doll in the World, aired last night on Channel 4.
