JUNGLE REBEKAH’S FURY AT BBC’S SEXIST SLUR

-

I’M A CELEB babe Rebekah Vardy was left FURIOUS after BBC football commentator Alan Green branded her “Jamie Vardy’s CHILDMINDER”.

The BBC Radio 5 Live star was commentating on Rebekah’s husband Jamie’s footie match over the weekend when he made the quip.

Green was on duty at Leicester City’s match against Crystal Palace on Saturday when he said the 30-year-old striker “has got his childminder back from the jungle”.

WAG Rebekah, 35, has recently returned from her I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! appearance and was less than impressed with Green’s comments.

Her social media followers brought the comment to Rebekah’s attention and she hit back, tweeting “must be desperate for more listeners” and branded him as “pathetic”.

Football broadcaster Green later apologised on-air for his joke and said: “By the way I think some people on social media took offence at what I was saying about Jamie Vardy and his wife Rebekah in relation to I’m a Celebrity.

“I certainly didn’t mean any offence so I apologise to you if you felt that any was meant.

“I was just trying to reflect the fact that I love the programme and enjoyed Rebekah’s part in it, and the other jungle celebrities. APOLOGY: Radio 5 Live star Alan Green and ( Rebekah Vardy “It’s a heck of a show.” However Rebekah, who recently finished in ninth place on this year’s series of the hit ITV show, was still unimpressed and plenty of fans online branded Green “sexist”.

The Vardys have two children together, while Rebekah has two from previous relationships and Jamie also has another daughter.

Rebekah is still feeling the effects of her jungle stint with people branding her a “bully” for her treatment of comic Iain Lee, 44.

Despite Iain initially claiming that he wasn’t bullied down under, he tweeted to Rebekah: “I hadn’t seen the comments made behind my back, or the ones made by some camp mates when they left.”
