PC was on duty when he scoffed hot doner

A POLICEMAN has been sacked for going missing on a midnight shift so he could chomp on a kebab.

PC Richard Musgrave, 52, lied about his whereabouts when he went to eat his takeaway in his patrol car parked up in an industrial estate, a disciplinary panel heard.

When they couldn’t get hold of him, Musgrave’s colleagues were forced to send a search party out to try to find him in March, Cambs.

They tracked him down to an industrial estate – where he was eating the kebab – using a police mapping tool that officers carry on their person. Grill. He was at the end of a 10-hour shift that he had done without a break, the panel heard.

The 4-day misconduct hearing in Peterborough concluded that he had breached professional standards in respect of honesty and integrity, discreditable conduct and duties and responsibilities.
