EVIL Black Cab Rapist John Worboys is demanding 24-hour police protection after he’s released from jail.

Outrage last week greeted news that Worboys – convicted of 19 offences and jailed for a minimum of eight years in 2009 – has been given the green light to walk free by the Parole Board.

It’s thought the former cabbie may have raped over ONE HUNDRED women in a six-year reign of terror.

But although the 60-year-old is thrilled to be released, he fears he’s a marked man on the outside – so wants the taxpayer to shell out for his protection.

A prison insider said: “Warboys was over the moon when he was told he’s going to get parole but was reminded, in no uncertain terms, that a lot of people want to do him harm.

“Quite honestly, that made him shit himself. Like all thugs who harm women, he is a coward and he was close to tears when he realised he’ll be looking over his shoulder for the rest of his life.” when Conservative MP Anna Soubry called on Home Secretary Amber Rudd to confirm women will be safe when he is freed.

Speaking in the House of Commons, former minister Ms Soubry voiced fears women could be unsafe.

She said: “What assurances can the Home Secretary give us that upon his release... women will be safe?”

Ms Rudd responded: “Making women safe and ensuring that we have the legislation in place for that is a priority for me and for this government.”

Worboys, 60, gave his victims drug-laced champagne before attacking them in the back of his cab.

The former stripper from Rotherhithe, south-east London, was caged 2009.

After a hearing in November, the Parole Board approved his release with “stringent” licence conditions.
