SERIAL BOMBER STRIKES AGAIN

City hit by 5th attack

-

DOMESTIC TERROR: Cops hunt for clues A PACKAGE bomb has exploded inside a FedEx depot as the hunt for a serial bomber terrorising a city continues.

The blast follows a Sunday night explosion that was triggered on a street by an almost invisible tripwire, suggesting a “higher level of sophistication” than authorities saw in three early package bombs left on doorsteps.

It means the carnage by a suspected serial bomber who has terrorised Austin, Texas, for weeks is now random, rather than targeted at someone in particular.

The latest explosion happened at a facility in Schertz, just north-east of San Antonio, Texas, and was caused by a package that was bound for Austin, say the FBI. one of the victims was riding a bike in the street and the other was on a pavement when they crossed a tripwire that he said knocked “them both off their feet”.

He added: “It was so dark they couldn’t see it. It was a wire. And it blew up.

“Both of them were bleeding profusely.”

The tripwire twist heightened the fear around Austin.

Police originally pointed to possible hate crimes, but the victims have now been black, Hispanic and white and from different parts of the diverse city.

Domestic terrorism is among the motives the FBI are looking at.
