DO YOU LIKE MY BEAVER, CHARLES?
COMEDIAN Dawn French once asked Prince Charles if he liked her BEAVER.
The 60-year-old star cheekily propositioned the Royal during a film premiere – and her joke left him in fits of giggles.
Dawn played a beaver in the 2005 fantasy film The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe and met Charles, 69, at the royal premiere.
Terrifying
She explained: “I couldn’t resist it when Charles was coming along and I said ‘Did you enjoy my beaver?’
“Luckily, he has a sense of humour, he knew what was going on and we both giggled.
“In fact I was so busy laughing that I didn’t realise Camilla was standing there waiting patiently to say hello.”
Meeting Prince Charles wasn’t the only royal appointment which left Dawn red-faced – as a child she met the Queen Mother.
Describing the meeting as the ‘most terrifying half-hour’ of her life, Dawn refused to speak to the late royal for fear she was really a witch.
Dawn recalled: “We commenced our well-practised bowing and curtsying. What happened next was the stuff of my nightmares for years.
“As I arose from my rather well executed curtsy, the Queen Mother smiled – and she had virtually black teeth. “Black teeth, like a witch. Believe me, when you’re three years and nine months old, black teeth equals witch. “I was utterly dumbstruck and refused to look at her or talk to her for the entire rest of the visit. “It was quite simply the most terrifying half-hour of my life.”
