Burglars in pasta sauce fire failure

TWO burglars tried to cover their tracks by setting fire to a house – using PASTA SAUCE.

Derrick Irving ( above, left), 36, and John Silva, 28, broke into the home of Irving’s ex-boyfriend and stole his TV and an air conditioning unit.

To remove evidence, Silva and Irving – who was bizarrely wearing a BULL costume at the time – set a pot of Ragu spaghetti sauce on a lit hob covered by a tea-towel in an attempt to start a fire.

But the ex received an alert on his phone from his security system. He checked his camera and saw that a towel had also been placed over the lens so contacted police, who stopped a car seen leaving the property.

The suspects claimed they were picking up clothes but police found their haul – which included an empty jar of Ragu.

The victim, who has not been named, told police in Miama, Florida: “He was trying to make it look like I left the stove on, but who gets up 2am and makes spaghetti?”
