Corrie Cath: I’m Strictly up for it!

SOAP stunna Catherine Tyldesley looks set to swap the cobbles for the Strictly Come Dancing ballroom.

The actress recently left Coronation Street after playing the part of Eva Price for seven years, and she’s now looking for other work.

Despite going to plenty of auditions, the former ITV star admitted that she’s got her sights set firmly on an appearance on the Beeb’s Strictly.

Cath said: “I’ve started going to auditions and I’ve been put up for some really exciting jobs.

“I’d love to do a gritty drama, but I want to try as many genres as possible.

“I don’t watch much reality TV but the one show I do enjoy is Strictly Come Dancing.

Emotional

“I adore it. That’s the only one I’d possibly do.”

Catherine, 34, left the Weatherfield soap in emotional final scenes and, despite living just 10 minutes away from ITV’s Salford studios she said it was the right time to wave goodbye.

The busty blonde added: “I’ve been there seven years and I think the fact my co-stars Jane Danson and Georgia Taylor were with me for my last scene made it even more emotional.

“I knew I’d made the right decision because I felt excited.

“Leaving was the right decision for me and my family.”
