A DRUNK exposed his genitals and touched himself in front of shocked bargain hunters in a busy charity shop.

Ian Fortnam, 50, was seen acting suspiciously before entering the Oxfam shop in Brighton.

Police followed him inside and saw him at the back of the shop with his trousers undone, holding his genitals and making noises. prosecuting, said: “Police were called by members of the public about the defendant’s behaviour.

“They pointed him out and police saw him enter the Oxfam charity shop.

“They followed him and, when they were inside, they saw him at the back of the shop.

“His trousers were undone, he was holding his genitals, making gestures and noises towards a member of the public.

“He continued in that manner towards the police officers.”

Linda Kerry, defending, said Fortnam previously suffered injuries in a car crash which affected him badly.

She said: “He doesn’t seek to use that as some kind of excuse. Clearly, he had drank to excess on the day, and that had an effect on him perhaps more than anybody else in those circumstances.

“He remembers very little of what he did but appreciates that his behaviour was appalling and would have been very, very upsetting for the other people in the shop who witnessed it.
