A FOOTBALL fan has been banned from going to games for four years after throwing a banana skin at a black player in a “targeted gesture” with a “racial element”.

Tottenham fan Averof Panteli (above) admitted hurling the item onto the pitch at the Emirates Stadium after Arsenal’s Gabon striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored and celebrated in front of Spurs’ supporters.

The van driver, 57, said he picked up and threw the discarded skin in a “spur of the moment” action but denied there was any racist intent, Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court heard.

Magistrate Mervyn Mandell said: “We find it was a targeted gesture to throw a banana skin after a goal was scored by a black player. We have in the circumstances found the racial element was there.”

Panteli, of Norwich, was handed a four-year football banning order and fined £500 after pleading guilty to throwing a missile. A spokesman for the club said: “We had this inkling, we might be able to use our dirty social following as a force for good. We had porn stars and cam babes channelling the love all night to help him win the people’s vote and hit the G spot!”

Rebecca added: “Geraint was such a sweetie when we met.

“He’s so incredibly talented and has worked so hard to get where he is. He’s got a great personality as well as being one of the best cyclists in the world.

“He’s a bit of a hero of mine, and a real sport.”
