‘Littered with cockroaches, blood and vomit’
SOCCER thug Paul Mitchell will be forced to live amongst paedophiles and rapists during his prison term over fears he will be attacked in jail.
The Birmingham City fan, 27, was jailed for 14 weeks after he ran onto the pitch at the club’s St Andrews ground and punched rivals Aston Villa’s ace midfielder Jack Grealish.
He will serve out his sentence in HMP Birmingham and prison guards have decided to keep him in the jail’s nonce wing to protect him from angry Aston Villa fans who may be out for revenge. A source said: “Normally when a prisoner is this notorious, when they have done something really horrible, they need protection.
“This prick isn’t exactly Ian Huntley but if we put him in with the general prison population there is a good chance he might not even get to see the week out.
“The safest place for him is in the vulnerable prisoners’ wing. He’s not a nonce but he’ll be surrounded by them.
“There will be a price on his head.”
It doesn’t help that HMP Birmingham is officially one of the worst prisons in the country, with violence and poor hygiene.
Its last inspection reported how it’s floors were littered with “cockroaches, blood and vomit”.
Things were so bad that the private prison was taken off its owners G4S and is now being run by the government.
Experts say things have improved since but it is still one of the most dangerous prisons in the UK.
