THE MAYOR’S GONE BARE! Topless model runs for Town Hall
A CANDIDATE standing for mayor has promised never to streak again if she gets elected!
Lisa Lewis, 38, ran onto the field during a game between the All Blacks and Ireland in Hamilton, New Zealand in 2006 wearing only a bikini.
She was escorted off the field by security guards and gained nationwide fame for her stunt, later selling the bikini for more than £2,000.
But streaking on the rugger pitch is not the only time Lisa has showed off her talents.
She’s also been a stripper, a sex worker, a naked newsreader and a topless model…
And now she’s running for mayor of Hamilton!
Lisa unsuccessfully ran for the same role in 2010, but said she has “learned a lot” about standing for local politics since then.
She said: “In 2010 I actually didn’t try. I was very young and very silly. I’ve learned from life experiences – including some dumb things I’ve done when I was young.
“Because I’ve been so honest about everything I’ve done in my lifetime – including a career that’s often stigmatised – I feel that people take me seriously because in the past, and now, when I say I’m going to do something, I follow through with it.”
Lisa plans to introduce tuk-tuks to the city centre as a way of employing young people, while also fighting climate change and running Hamilton “like a business”.
Discussing her famous streak in 2006, Lisa said she was on a blind date at the All Blacks game when she decided to run onto the field.
“I hurtled the fence and I just ran for my life,” she said. STREAKER: Lisa back in 2006
