Thug jailed as 3-in-bed romp turns ugly
A JEALOUS boyfriend has been jailed for threatening to cut off the penis of a pal he found in bed with his partner.
Dylan Barnes had been drinking with victim Max Wiseman and girlfriend Kelsey Vinnicombe before they all went back to her flat and went to bed together.
But the threesome went wrong when Barnes got angry and accused Mr Wiseman of trying to seduce Miss Vinnicombe. He fetched a knife from the kitchen and slashed towards his groin, telling him: “I want to cut your dick off for touching up my girlfriend.”
He then dropped the knife and punched Mr Wiseman repeatedly in the face.
Mr Wiseman escaped the flat in Exmouth, Devon, and went to hospital with scratches on his body and severe bruising. Barnes also beat Miss Vinnicombe senseless.
Barnes was already awaiting trial for an attack on a shop worker who was walking to a supermarket in Exeter at 5.45am when he ran into Barnes and a friend, who had been drinking.
He was punched to the ground and repeatedly kicked in the face, leaving him with a broken eye socket which is still affecting his eyesight 15 months on.
Guilty
Barnes, now aged 20, of Exeter, admitted causing actual bodily harm to Mr Wiseman, battery against Miss Vinnicombe, 18, and breaching a restraining order.
He denied causing grievous bodily harm with intent to Morrison’s worker James GilbeyScott but was found guilty by a jury at Exeter Crown Court last month. He was jailed for a total of five years, 10 months by Recorder Mr Timothy Kenefick, who imposed a restraining order which bans him from further contact with Miss Vinnicombe.
He told him: “You have a tendency to lose control and behave violently, especially when drugs and alcohol are involved. Your young age and lack of maturity go some way to explaining how you behaved.
“You accused Mr Wiseman of behaving inappropriately with Miss Vinnicombe. You fetched a knife and went at him with it. You slashed and lunged towards his groin and threatened to cut off his penis. Fortunately, you did not stab him.”
