MORE than 700 cops have raided homes and businesses in a crackdown on human trafficking.

The raids focused on 13 suspects, all Vietnamese, who were alleged to have illegally trafficked at least 155 of their compatriots.

Investigators allege the traffickers charged people up to £16,000 to smuggle them in to Germany, and that many of them worked in nail parlours, restaurants or sweat shops to pay back their debts.

a miracle that Linda Morrissey made it out alive.

Her home was ablaze and her husband Joe lay dying on the living room floor.

Linda herself could only watch from her bed, bound by the feet and wrists and unable to move.

Next to her sat her terrified five-year-old son Patrick, a child they had adopted as a baby from South Korea.

The youngster had heard the screams of his father as he was stabbed in the stomach, head and neck by Randy Tundidor following a petty row about rent.

And, as the flames licked at the lifeless body of his father, it was brave little Patrick who saved Linda’s life.

Braving the fire, he ran into the kitchen, found a pair of scissors, raced back and cut his mother free so the pair could escape onto the patio of their home in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

For Linda, Patrick is simply her ‘hero’.

With Patrick safe, Linda dived back inside, grabbed her husband and dragged him out.

She struggled as her feet lost traction on the slippery kitchen floor. It was her husband’s blood.

But her efforts were all in vain. Joe, a man who had devoted his life to finding a cure for cancer, was already dead. Now Linda, 53, has to live with the perpetual torment while Patrick, now 12, is plagued by post traumatic stress.
