Then drunken City worker shoved hand down her jeans

A CITY worker drunkenly shoved his hand down a woman’s jeans when she tried to help him into a cab after he was thrown out of a works do, a court heard.

Christopher Ross, 31, who worked for a major accountancy firm, groped the victim’s bottom and slurred: “I want to grab your tits,” Westminster Magistrates Court heard.

Prosecutor Jason Seetal told how Ross carried out the sex attack in the early hours of 22 December 2018.

“On 21 December in the evening, as part of a work night out, the complainant had gone there with other workers,” he said.

“There had been some drinking from the defendant.

“By later in the evening, the defendant was asked to leave the venue on Fleet Street.

“Members of staff felt his behaviour was no longer appropriate.”

“He also made an attempt to grab her breasts and made the comment ‘I want to grab your tits’.”

At this point, the horrified woman briefly fought him off, the court heard.

“She tried to call a colleague,” said Mr Seetal.

“He put his hands underneath her jeans, under her underwear, and touched her pubic area.

“She managed to get his hand off. She pushed the defendant away and he fell.”

The court heard that the victim found the incident ‘very difficult to talk about’ and felt ‘emotional’ about it.

Ross, who appeared before the court wearing a surgical mask, spoke only to answer the charges put before him.

The court heard that Ross had ‘no recollection of what happened’.

He was sacked from his management position at the accountancy firm in February last year and has been out of work since.

District Judge Angus Hamilton adjourned the sentencing for the preparation of a presentence report.

Ross, of Walsall, West Midlands, admitted two charges of sexual assault.

He was bailed and will be sentenced at the same court on September 1.
