CHAMPS CAN LAND 2-1 WIN

-

LIVERPOOL can lay down a big marker in the title race by beating Tottenham at Anfield tonight.

Jose Mourinho is taking full advantage of the strange times we live in with his counterattacking style working wonders.

His side left the weekend topping the table. But their points haul at this stage last season would have left them in fifth place.

I’ve bored on before about how an empty White Hart Lane is a dream for the Special One who can allow the visitors to have 60% possession and hit them on the break.

He will operated those tactics at Anfield and hope to nick a goal or, failing that, squeeze out a 0-0 draw.

The Reds are like two teams at the moment. On the road they have all sorts of issues and were lucky to get a point against lowly Fulham at the weekend.

But it’s a different matter at Anfield where even the small crowd will spur them on to beat Spurs.

The Reds have won four of the past five homes against the Londoners.

And, if Sadio Mane, Mo Salah and Roberto Firmino have their shooting boots on they can extend that sequence.

Liverpool need their wide men Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold to be at their best as stretching the play will be key to getting around Jose’s parked bus.

Despite missing their first choice centre-backs, the Reds have kept things tight at home with just two goals shipped in four matches.

At the same time, Spurs rarely manage to score more than once in their road trips.

That was the case at Crystal Palace last time where they sat back and allowed the Eagles to recover after taking the lead. If Liv

NOT GREAT: Jordan Pickford erpool score first in this game then Mourinho’s plan may unravel.

The home side are 4/5 with Tottenham a fair 7/2 and the draw 3/1.

That’s not a bad price for the home win but you can boost it looking at the correct score market.

This fixture has had a habit of finishing 2-1 and that is tempting again at 8/1 with Betvictor.

The 6pm kick-off on Amazon Prime looks set for a draw between Leicester and Everton. The Foxes

NEEDS HIS A-GAME: Sadio Mane looked to have found their mojo with a 3-0 weekend win at struggling Brighton while Everton were deserved winners against Chelsea.

If you like betting on the total goals market this looks like a good one with Leicester regularly hitting the target and the visitors’ having an iffy goalie even if he is England’s number one.

You won’t get rich but over 2.5 goals looks likely at a general 4/6.

I would have a small interest in the 2-2 draw which is much more tempting at 13/1 with Betvictor or 12s everywhere else.

Sheffield United would love to bag their first win of the season when they welcome Man United to Bramall Lane at 8pm.

It’s hard to see it with the Blades in such shocking form. They have managed to lose 14 of their past 15 league games and were spanked twice last season by Ole’s lads.

The Red Devils have a habit of coming from behind this season so there’s every chance that the home side will hit the target at some point.

So go for the away win with both teams to score at 23/10 with several firms.
